The Lavin room, which was built in the 16th century, corresponds to the original shape of the Engadine room. Instead of windows, it contains small peepholes with sliders; at that time the holes were often covered with dried pig bladders. The parlor already has the typical layout for the Engadine house: the oven, which is heated from the kitchen, is next to the door. A trap door (bural) and a narrow staircase behind the stove lead to the bedroom on the upper floor.
